Ste. Michelle barrel ferments this tangy, toasty wine, which has plenty of acidity to balance out the oak. This pleasant mesh of lemon, fig and melon is best enjoyed with food. 1 Note

This unusual white wine borders on being flat and stale. The aromas are of candy corn, while the palate doesn’t come through with much sweetness or fruit; it’s mostly mild citrus and sour apple. The finish, as could be expected for Semillon, is sizable and weighty. 1 Note

Columbia Crest always does a fine job with this budget grape. The accent is on green-apple and green-berry fruit, with suggestions of herb and spice filling in the flavor interest. It’s a high acid, food-ready wine that will accompany a wide variety of shellfish, oily steakfish and some cream-sauced pastas. 1 Note

Has indistinct watery aromas of lemons and buttercups. Fresh and clean, but the flavors are weak and washed out. There's adequate acidity and alcohol, but your palate really has to work to ferret out the lemony flavors. 1 Note

A mirror image of the Sauvignon Blancs; here the proportions reversed (the Sauv Blanc is at 24%) and consequently the wine has a bit of the woody/woolly mid-palate reediness of Semillon. Balanced and crisply ripe. 1 Note
