An unusual wine to say the least, as one does not get to taste these wines with age on them; darker color of course, but rich nose with strong butterscotch and honeyed fruit aromas, sugary, caramel-laced aromas; sweet in the mouth, but the wine is flat and seems to skitter along the surface of the palate; there are a fair amount of lemon-flavored elements in the wine, but they are now somewhat tired and struggling to maintain freshness; still all-in-all a good wine for its age. Sweet and spicy nose very aromatic with floral tones, green herbs, peaches, green apples, and the unmistakable presence of cat piss; smooth and rich in the mouth; the white wines from this property keep getting better all the time; lots of fresh fruits with nice spicy undertones; long smooth finish with a very nice mouthfeel at the end. (17/20) Tasted again at the Commanderie Knickerbocker dinner, but these bottles did not have the freshness or the quality that my earlier notes reflect, and the wine seemed thinner and more citric than my earlier notes show. 1 Note

Powerful nose with a complex mix of aromas that range from pine pitch, sweet spice and pineapple to vanilla and licorice; sweet and intense in the mouth; powerful flavors of raisins; great acidity, sweet licorice, lemons; touch of bitter lemons at the end, but a sumptuous wine, and filled with subtle nuances of flavor. Deep color, tawny edging toward brown, wonderful nose of orange peel, caramel, pine needles and pine tar, spices, sweet aromas, quite aromatic and effusive; sweet fruit in the front of the mouth with a mix of roasted oranges and apricots, lots of sugar in the body of the wine but also a big dose of acidity that adds a surprising amount of freshness to this grand old dame; nice sweet and clean finish with touches of sugared lemon and caramel, great at any age. Wonderful nose, sweet and aromatic with apricots and caramel, powdered sugar, pineapples; sweet and spicy in the mouth, sweet but not cloying and with good complexity for a wine that is still very young; flavors of spicy apples, pineapple, vanilla bean, but plenty of acidity to maintain freshness and focus. Rich and creamy nose, sweet apricots and pineapples, spices, rich and thick aromas; sweet, smooth and powerful in the mouth; this wine grabs your attention even while it is trying to seduce you with its sweet fruit; this has classic flavors of apricots, but then loaded up with strong pineapple flavored acidity; spicy and rich, touch of pine needles sometimes found in these wines; plenty of botrytis in this wine; structured and intense at the finish; quite a statement for this property, and should get much better with more time. Wonderful nose with layers of sweet, velvety aromas, liquid apricots, fruit syrup; wonderful in the mouth; lighter than many but with very good fruit concentration; seems to gain strength in the glass, dominant flavors are apricot with a hint of pineapple and perhaps some green apple in the background; neither too sweet nor dry, this wine has very good balance; lacks the assertion of a d’Yquem, but not a slouching wine either.
