More yellow than Lustau’s manzanilla, Jarana is a lovely, proper fino with a nose of iodine, lemon blossom and popcorn. The palate is staunch and doesn’t back down; the high-toned nut and citrus flavors seem classic and elevated. And the finish is intense and frames everything in walnut oil and toast. 1 Note

More yellow than most finos, with a strong, oily nose of popcorn and citric essence. The palate shows roasted corn, baked apple and salted almonds, while the finish is steady yet salty. This one really grabs your tongue and taste buds; it’s forceful, and in some ways it could probably benefit from better definition. 1 Note

Textbook Manzanilla! Papirusa is a clean, mildly salinic offering with green banana and toast aromas. The palate is just salty enough, but the wine’s more about almond, apple and lemon peel than saline. And the feel and finish are nutty and warm. A full-bodied but refreshing style as only Lustau can do. 1 Note

Lustau calls it dry but Los Arcos definitely has some aromatic and palate sweetness. The nose settles on brown sugar, peach, mixed nuts and honey. It’s not super tight or acidic, and thus the palate drips maple and molasses. Medium-bodied and balanced, but with that shot of sugar offset by honest but mellow acids. 1 Note
