A Wine

Chapoutier Ermitage L’Adoree -1991

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Perfumed nose with gardenias and oleander, soft and silky aromas, but also with an underpinning of flint and minerals mixed with green olive and herb aromas; sweet, round, and silky in the mouth with spicy lemon oil flavors; very smooth and almost unctuous in the mouth; big lemony finish, seems to pick up acidity and mineral notes as it expands. A Wine

Chapoutier Châteauneuf-du-Pape Barbe Roc -2001

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Big, powerful nose with spices and lots of green fruit and herbs, minerals, earth, ripe sweet aromas of black fruits, sauvage, floral, cacao and chocolate perfumed black pepper; first taste is ripe and sweet with lots of dense fruit, herbs and chocolate, but then the youth of the wine takes over and huge dry tannins attack the mouth in a searing grip of acidity and hard wooden flavors; much too young now to enjoy; needs a lot of time. (15 now; probably very different in a few years) 1 Note

A Wine

Chapoutier Hermitage M. de la Sizeranne -1959

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Very sweet and rich nose with black fruits, smoke and wood, dense and intense aromas, but also perfumed and elegant; sweet and ripe in the mouth, at first defined by rich black fruits; then the wine is taken over by big dry tannins that are both woody and fleshy at the same time; the wine keeps its balance in the end, with both fruit, citrus, and tannins interacting smoothly; this wine has lost its edge, but still a charmer. (17/20) 1 Note
