This is a limited edition (about 7000 cases) wine that is mainly sold in the Northwest. The aromas are of lemon wax, light blossom and apricot. Lots of flavor springs from a textured, almost creamy mouthfeel. Very fresh and inviting. 1 Note

Chateau Ste. Michelle makes more Riesling than any winery in the country, and this bottling, at 553,500 cases, may qualify as the largest single Riesling production in the world. It’s a great bottle of wine, priced for everyday consumption, yet loaded with fresh fruit flavors of peach, pear and melon. Washington state built its white wine reputation on Riesling, and Riesling is more popular than ever before (statewide it is the third most planted grape, and production is up 23 percent in the past two years). This version is off-dry, lightly spiced and perfectly framed by vibrant acids. 1 Note

The workhorse wine for the Chateau, 375,000 cases strong. Consistently shows a nice mix of flavors revolving around grapefruit, white peaches and apricots, with freshness and well-managed off-dry sweetness. Never sugary, never cloying, it has almost as much character as the Eroica for half the price. 1 Note

A mirror image of the Sauvignon Blancs; here the proportions reversed (the Sauv Blanc is at 24%) and consequently the wine has a bit of the woody/woolly mid-palate reediness of Semillon. Balanced and crisply ripe. 1 Note

Very much a food wine, it minimizes the floral oiliness of the grape in favor of citrus rind and spice. Crisp and fresh, with a touch of sweetness, it makes a perfect partner for crab cakes, Asian noodle dishes, or summer salads. 1 Note

Lovely aromas pour from the glass, a heady mix of lime, Asian pear, cucumber and apple. In the mouth some sweet honey pours over the crisp fruit, and the wine feels lush and perfectly melded, despite its youth. Residual sugar is under 2% and the alcohol just 12%. 1 Note

A new offering from the country’s largest producer of Rieslings, this fits an emerging off-dry category, with 11% alcohol and 4.7% residual sugar. It’s a slightly sweeter companion to the winery’s popular Columbia Valley bottling, with more of the honey and tea, less of the cool fruit flavors. 1 Note
