This wine is the only 100% Mouverdre that I have seen in the U.S.; impressive nose, sweet and syrupy, dense, but also complex and layered with floral scents of violets combined with more elemental aromas of smoked meat, black licorice; sweet and rich in the mouth, black cherry and plum flavors; big jammy flavors with a long finish that is defined with black fruits and soft, integrated tannins; this is really well-made wine, although I have nothing in the U.S. to compare it to; not surprisingly, it has some of the characteristics of a ripe Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
