This 100% Pinot Noir is from Catalonia, in northeastern Spain. A vivid strawberry-pink colored wine, with toast aromas, followed on the palate with vivid, fresh red fruits, a layer of acidity and some caramel flavors. 1 Note

Crisp and clean, thus it qualifies as a perfect apéritif wine. Secure in its apple and slate aromas and flavors, with a firm but persistent bead that fosters a fine mouthfeel. Best with nuts, olives, chips and especially seafood. 1 Note

Fairly basic on the nose, where there’s apple cider and a spot of yeasty richness. The palate is easygoing as well, with less than lively bubbles but nice sour apple and citrus flavors. Finishes in an acid-driven fashion, with green apple as the lasting note. 1 Note

Colorful and pretty to look at, but a little sweet. The nose has a sweet, maple syrup element along with dry berry fruit aromas. It’s healthy and fresh in the mouth, with citrus, cranberry and raspberry flavors. Simple and nice for easy drinking. 1 Note

CodornÃu makes a consistent rosé Cava from Pinot Noir. It’s smoky and spicy, with cured meat aromas and a true earthy Pinot character. Flavors of orange are somewhat linear and monotone, but that one note is a good flavor, and a fresh and clean one as well. 1 Note

Ginger ale and Sprite are the first things that come to mind when you give it a sniff. The palate shows ripe and sweet orange, tangerine and pink grapefruit, while the back end is lean and citrusy but far short of complex. Good in a standard way. 1 Note

This one takes on an orange tint, and the aromas are akin to chocolate, spice cake and even some baked beans. The palate is quite crisp and healthy, with berry fruit, citrus and length. A good wine with a racy, cleansing feel. It’s not spectacular but it ranks highly among similar competitors. 1 Note
