Concha y Toro Sauvignon Blanc -2007 (WE-76795)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Simple and spry, with pulsating citrus aromas and flavors that convey a sense of purity and purpose. This boasts lively grapefruit, lime and stone-fruit notes in front of a clean, alert finish. Versatile enough to serve with oysters or mussels, or as an apéritif. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Carmenère -2006 (WE-78091)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

A very ripe and ready style of Carmenère. The big berry aromas mixed with spice and herbs are just what you need to get into the juicy, forward palate of plum and blackberry. Round in the mouth, not tannic, yet still a force to reckon with. For $10 this is a lot of wine. Imported by Excelsior Wine & Spirits. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Shiraz -2006 (WE-78092)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

As a whole this is a mixed bag of dark fruit, creamy oak and chocolate, which makes it a New World Shiraz in every way, shape and form. The nose is creamy and ripe, and so is the chunky, broad, fruit-rich palate. It’s a fruitball, no doubt, but a balanced one with proper acidity and tannins. Imported by Excelsior Wine & Spirits. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Rosé -2007 (WE-78093)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This Concha y Toro brand almost always delivers good quality for a fair price, but this wine doesn’t accomplish much. It smells like a child’s fruit drink, and the strawberry and raspberry flavors are equally candied. And in the mouth the wine seems heavy at first and then vacuous later on, as if everything holding it together had evaporated. Not imported to the U.S. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Sauvignon Blanc -2008 (WE-93518)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Even though Casillero is a respected value-based brand, this one has integration issues. The nose seems flat and fruitless, and the palate is quite acidic yet watery. Flavors of child’s vitamins and orange juice are not elevated, and in the end it’s simply wet and biting. 300,000 cases made, which makes it “mass” by any definition. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Rosé -2008 (WE-95843)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Powdery fruit and air freshener aromas are probably the best part of this narrow, unfriendly rosé. Sour citrus flavors rest on lemon, while the palate is piercingly acidic. A lot of work needs to be done to make this a worthy summer rosé. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Cabernet Sauvignon -1999 (WE-5437)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Attractive aromas of berries with licorice and caramel accents promise pleasure, and on the palate the wine is round and smooth with dried cherry and herb flavors. The package is marred, however, by a dry, tart-even bitter-espresso tinged finish, that comes on quite unexpectedly and unharmoniously. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Carmenère -2003 (WE-32945)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

It may have been abandoned in its Bordeaux home, but Carmenère has found a home and a new life in Chile. It makes red wines with good juicy fruit, freshness, flavors of ripe plums. This example, blended with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah, is a great wine just to drink, full of fruit, with a touch of toast, vanilla and smooth tannins. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Malbec -2008 (WE-107680)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

A bold and chunky customer with multiple personalities. The nose has big black fruit, smoke, leather, barrel char and even some wet dog smells, while the palate is easygoing and full, with herbal, roasted fruit and spice. Long and mostly true on the finish. Uncomplicated but solid. 1 Note

Concha y Toro Syrah -2008 (WE-107681)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Intensely purple, with aromas of char, shoe polish, coffee, black fruits and herbs. Thick but balanced, with juicy, fresh-styled blackberry and dark plum flavors. Combines chocolate and herbal qualities on the finish. Zesty, driving, a little lemony and nice overall. 1 Note
