I really enjoyed this wine. It is a strong, yet smooth red with a peppery aftertaste. Its deep purple color and its yeasty aroma fool you into believing that it will be a bitter red but that is far from the truth. The initial flavor is very pleasant and not bitter at all. The wine has a silky feel on the tongue and flavors of leather sneak in as the wine touches different parts of the tongue. We paired this with a mildly spicy pasta dish and it was a nice compliment.
