Firmly structured wine, which also boasts delicious jammy fruit, very ripe, very opulent. The tannins are sweet and rich, suggesting aging potential over 7–8 years and more. An impressive wine. 1 Note

The potential here is enormous. This is a great wine, powerful and densely textured, at this stage packed with a steely character, but just waiting to unleash its beautifully defined fruit, to break out of the tight structure. Give it at least six years. 1 Note

It’s the complexity that dominates this wine from what is arguably the greatest Chardonnay vineyard in Burgundy. All the fruit elements are wrapped up in a tense, tightly strung structure, and then surrounded by superrichness. Acidity adds to the mix, a pure, green plum fruit character. All in all, a great wine. 1 Note

Black cherry juice vies with a dense structure in this powerful wine. It has layers of tannins and sweetness. This is a firm, solid wine packed inside velvet. Age for 10 years and more. 1 Note

The grandest of all white Burgundy vineyards, Montrachet has produced a powerful, great wine, with impressive ripe, dense fruit. There is still elegance, a sense of proportion, but the opulence of the Chardonnay here is impossible to resist. 1 Note

What a powerhouse of flavors: white and yellow fruit, herbs and spicy wood, but still exhibiting some of the finesse and elegance for which this grand cru vineyard is noted.
