Shows an almost indecipherable nose with hay and vegetable aromas. Geen-apple and orange flavors are displayed on the tangy palate, and lemon and oak mingle on the finish. Strangely disjointed. 1 Note

This is certainly a better Chard than the winery’s ’04. It’s richer and more succulent, overall more rewarding in varietal fruit, including peaches and cream, pineapples, guavas and papayas, with a cinnamon spice finish. The wine also is characterized by crisp, crunchy acidity that makes it racy. 1 Note

There’s lots of flamboyant, ripe fruit here, concentrated and intense in papayas, pineapples, pears and lime custard. The oak is of equal heft, sweet and spicy in vanilla and woodsap flavors. The wine’s a little awkward at this time. It could knit together and turn elegant in a year or so. 1 Note

Creamy smooth and enlivened with brisk acidity, this Chard shows forward, tart green apple, lime and pineapple flavors. Oak barrels add even richer notes of buttered toast and butterscotch to this elegant sipper. 1 Note

Very rich, dry and crisp in acidity, a Chardonnay that feels fine from your first sip through the spicy finish. Made with 35% new French oak, and aged eight months on the lees, it’s drinking beautifully now, with pear, pineapple, vanilla custard and buttered toast flavors. Just lovely. 1 Note

Gentle and fruity, with pleasant cassis flavors and soft tannins. The oaky overlay adds smoky notes. Not an ager, it’s best enjoyed in its precocious youth. 1 Note

Young, elegant and impeccably structured, this classic Napa Cab is 90% Oakville and Rutherford. It’s a dry, fairly oaky wine, with polished black currant flavors, wrapped in thick tannins that finish with rich complexity. 1 Note

Extract and weight mark this dry Syrah from Cabernet specialist Sequoia Grove. The wine tastes fresh and unresolved, with a grapy jamminess reminiscent of black-berry purée. Firm tannins and rich oak add complexity, but this wine needs a few years to come together. 1 Note
