Strong in those feline pyrazines, so if you’re sensitive, move on. Otherwise, it’s a bone-dry, crisp wine, with a modest oak note to the grapefruit and lime flavors. 1 Note

Better known for its Cabs, Spring Mountain has been quietly building up its Sauvignon Blanc, and now produces one of the better ones in Napa Valley. The wine is dry and quite crisp in acids, with rich, exotic flavors of Meyer lemon, quince, lime zest, Asian pear and spice. A touch of oak and stirring on the lees provides the perfect touch of richness and cream. 1 Note

This bottling needs warmer years to succeed, whch 2008 wasn’t. As a result the ’08 has some prominent pyrazine notes that threaten to overwhelm the gooseberries and citrus. Made in the full-blown white Graves style, it shows richer notes of buttercream and lees. 1 Note

A solid Sauvignon Blanc, rich, dry and savory. Fermented in neutral oak and aged on the lees, it shows a pleasantly tangy, sourdough creaminess, with ripe flavors of citrus fruits, white peaches and a firm, flinty minerality that comes from these mountain soils. 1 Note

To say the least, it comes out guns blazing and oozing mountain character. Animal and barnyard, coffee and earth, even burnt toast and smoky bacon are all over this wine. Fruit definitely plays second fiddle to the dark, earthy essence of this Cabernet, Merlot and Cab Franc trio. 1 Note
