A Wine for Every Car at the Petersen

mustang_exhibit_graphic_620Around the World in 80 Sips is coming up on August 15th at Los Angeles’ Petersen Automotive Museum. Can’t make it? Try these wines instead!

Film Producer and Director John Lasseter owns Lasseter Family Winery with his wife Nancy. He also happens to have a rare coupe on display at the Petersen, a one-of-a kind coral Ford Thunderbird that was driven by Pierce Brosnan with Halle Berry riding shotgun in the ice hotel scene of the James Bond movie, Die Another Day (2002).

When asked to recommend the perfect wine to pair with the famous coral Thunderbird, the Lasseters recommended their 'Enjoué Rosé' saying, “The wine is flirty, fun and adventurous. Its alluring salmon color evokes images of the sexy Halle Berry wearing that coral bikini. If Pierce had handed Halle a glass of the Lasseter Family Enjoué Rosé as she stepped out of the T-bird, the story might have gone differently.”

Ford Mustang Exhibit: Running May 3 through October 18
• We recommend sipping classic California chardonnay when viewing the Ford Mustangs. Just as the sporty Mustang helped define American car cul-ture in the nineteen fifties, full-throttle chardonnay is synonymous with the early success of the California wine industry. As displayed in the 2008 film Bottleshock, chardonnay made its mark at the Judgment of Paris in 1976.

Town Cars: Running February 15, 2014 through February 8, 2015
• For town cars, we recommend sipping Champagne like Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby. “Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right,” wrote F. Scott Fitzgerald, author of the classic novel that has inspired five film adaptations.
