Napa Valley is finally celebrating its reigning monarch, cabernet sauvignon, with CabFest, the first festival devoted exclusively to Napa Valley’s legendary grape. The festival takes place February 28 to March 2 at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater in Yountville, and is jam-packed with the best Napa Valley has to offer.
Of course, wine will be everywhere. Wine tastings of current and library wines from over 100 of Napa Valley’s best cabernet sauvignon producers, including Silver Oak Cellars, Gargiulo Vineyards, Crocker & Starr and Spottswoode Estate Vineyard and Winery, take place over the weekend. Celebrated chef Cindy Pawlcyn will be there with delectable bites paired with the wines. Fascinating panels and seminars hosted by top winemakers and wine experts occur throughout the weekend, including Karen MacNeil, wine expert, author of the best-selling book The Wine Bible and The Daily Sip® editor. She will host a seminar on “What Makes Great Cabernet Sauvignon Great” and “Cab on the Couch,” a Johnny Carson-inspired show with impromptu, personal conversations with some of the biggest names in the valley.
Jeff Bridges, Oscar-winning actor, singer and songwriter, will headline the weekend with performances of country-rock music with his band Jeff Bridges and The Abiders, and a chance to hang out with him at the “Cigars and Guitars” after-party for VIP ticket-holders. His daughter, Jessie Bridges, will also perform throughout the weekend. Local band The Silverado Pickups, made up of winemakers and winery owners in Napa Valley, will also perform. Come see if they make music as well as they make wine!
Tickets range from $10 for The Silverado Pickups concert to $500 for the VIP All-Access Ticket, and can be purchased here. Get your cab on!
