There seem to be more great wine events in the month of July than fireworks in the sky on the 4th. Even after the last firework has faded, there are many great wine events with a bang throughout the month.
Taste Around Town, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and NYC, July 1-31
Taste Around Town is a restaurant week for wine. This time we're coming to Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and NYC to celebrate “31 Days of German Riesling!” From July 1-31, round up your friends and head out to participating restaurants and wine bars to taste these captivating wines. For this limited time, the restaurants will feature German riesling in flights, pairing menus, by the glass or by the bottle for lunch and/or dinner. Be sure to request the Taste Around Town wine list from your server or bartender when you visit each participating restaurant or wine bar.
VinoPalooza Wine Fest, Marble Falls, Texas, July 4
Celebrate Independence Day with wineries from Texas Hill Country. Enjoy great Texas Wine, a celebratory pig roast and live music from local musicians. Meet the owners and winemakers from Dry Comal Creek, Flat Creek Estate, Pillar Bluff, Pilot Knob and Stone House wineries.
Watermelon Wine Festival, Concord, Virginia, July 5-6
Enjoy a special watermelon sangria made from real watermelon juice and secret ingredients along with wine from local wineries, beer, and live music. Also savor food from “Sweet & Eats by Greeks” and others. This is a family-friendly event with an indoor pool and lifeguard, games for kids with prizes, and a playhouse.
Salute! Kansas Festival of Wine & Food, Lawrence, Kansas, July 9-11
Events include a winemaker dinner featuring Grgich Hills Estate and a grand tasting featuring more than 250 wines along with delicacies from area restaurants and caterers. Proceeds benefit Cottonwood, Inc., a non-profit that helps individuals with disabilities shape their future.
Park City Food & Wine Classic, Park City, Utah, July 9-12
Experience more than 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries, epicurean purveyors, and locally-made products at this ultimate food and wine experience. Events range from food and wine tastings, to seminars and cooking demonstrations, to outdoor adventures with food & wine influences.
Bacigalupi Vineyard Designate Tasting, Healdsburg, California, July 10
19 wineries will be pouring wines produced exclusively from the Bacigalupi Vineyards. Also, enjoy food pairings by local favorites Bay Laurel Catering and The Oyster Girls, live music and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit The Guardsmen, funding outdoor education camps for underprivileged youth in the Bay Area.

Fueled by Fine Wine Half Marathon, Dundee Hills, Oregon, July 12
The sixth annual Fueled by Fine Wine Half Marathon offers a scenic, 13.1 mile course set in the heart of Oregon wine country. Runners receive a swag bag and access to a post-race celebration including area wines, food and live music. Post-race festivities occur in downtown Dundee while the course itself winds through the rolling hills and vineyards of the surrounding AVA.
Festival del Sole 2014, Napa Valley, California, July 15-26
12 days of music, dance and theater are artfully blended with one-of-a-kind lifestyle programs and Napa’s incomparable wines and culinary delights. Beyond an array of performance from world class-artists, other events include Blackbird Vineyards’ 10th Anniversary Luncheon, Yoga in the Vineyard, A Taste of Napa (with over 80 restaurants, food artisans, and wineries), and a 5K & 10K Sun Run.
Killington Wine Festival, Killington, Vermont, July 17–19
Taste 500 wines from a collection of over 40 vineyards from around the world with Killington Peak and the Green Mountains of Vermont serving as a scenic backdrop. Events include a grand tasting and the “Wine and Nine” golf tournament.
Bacon & Barrels, Solvang, California, July 17-19
A festival for bacon obsessed foodies and those who prefer their drinks from a barrel (like bourbon, beer, wine, and scotch). Events include the Sunday Funday VIP All-Bacon Inspired Brunch, a kick-off dinner at Buttonwood Winery, and the main festival with local and celebrity chef demonstrations.
Hudson Wine Festival, Hudson, Ohio, July 17-18
Enjoy 150+ wines from local, national and international producers as well as select craft beers and spirits along with live music, food, retail vendors, and wine seminars. The festival benefits animal welfare and military support organizations.
Drink Pink Rosé Festival, Gaston, Oregon, July 18
Patton Valley Vineyards hosts 25 wineries all celebrating refreshing rosé wines. Established names like Elk Cove Vineyards and Penner–Ash Wine Cellars join smaller producers, each offering their take on this warm weather sipper. Portland’s Crown Paella and Scoop will be serving up bites to accompany the wines.
Chili and Chillin’ on the Wine Road 290, Fredericksburg, Texas, July 18
It may be hot in July, but Texans love their chili. Each of the 15 wineries from the Wine Road 290 will team with a top local Hill Country restaurant and prepare chili to serve you with a wine from the winery. You will, of course, also have the opportunity to taste other wines from each winery during your visits.
University of San Diego Wine Classic, San Diego, California, July 18-19

Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival - Music & Wine Gala, Santa Fe, New Mexico, July 21

Carneros “Year of the Ram” 30th Birthday Bash, Napa, California, July 25
The Carneros Wine Alliance celebrates the 30th anniversary of the group’s founding as well as the 2015 Year of the Ram (“carneros” in Spanish) in the Chinese zodiac calendar.
