June is traditionally the start of hot weather and summer fun. June is also a big month for weddings, but even if you aren’t getting hitched, you can still have some great sips. Here are some great wine events we found all over the country:
Taste Around Town, San Francisco & Los Angeles, California, June 1-21
Taste Around Town is a restaurant week for wine. This time we're coming to San Francisco and Los Angeles with the wines of Alsace - one of France’s most exciting regions! From June 1-14, round up your friends and head out to participating restaurants and wine bars to taste these captivating wines. For this limited time, the restaurants will feature Alsace wines in flights, pairing menus, by the glass or by the bottle for lunch and/or dinner. Be sure to request the Taste Around Town wine list from your server or bartender when you visit each participating restaurant or wine bar.
Wine & Food Week, Houston, Texas, June 2-6
Drawing culinary masters and wine experts from around the world, Wine & Food Week uncorks scores of events featuring more than 500 wines, 50 restaurants, and legendary wine producers and culinary personalities. Events include a Ladies of the Vine Tasting, Sips, Suds & Tacos, Platinum Wine Vault Tasting, and Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase.
Westchester Magazine's Wine & Food Week, White Plains, New York, June 3-6
Enjoy 150 world class wines from around the world, gourmet food samplings from 100 top restaurants, and award-winning chefs and top sommeliers, who graciously display their expertise at seminars, classes, and cook-offs. Events include Fashion, Food & Wine, Burger & Beer Blast, the Grand Tasting and Jr. Chefs Academy - Kids in the Kitchen.
Auction Napa Valley, June 4-7
Auction Napa Valley is one of the most highly anticipated wine events each year. Kickoff the celebration Thursday night at one of the welcome parties, hosted by a variety of spectacular wineries. On Friday, sample Napa’s best cuisine, get a first taste of future vintages straight out of the barrel and bid on a case of your favorite at the barrel auction. The main auction is Saturday afternoon, where you can bid on exclusive winery experiences and trips around the globe. But no matter where you find yourself, you can join in experience with the E-Auction.
Pinot, Pigs & Poets, Omaha, Nebraska, June 4
This unusual event features outstanding pinot noirs from more than 30 wineries, savory pork dishes from renowned Omaha chefs and slam poetry provided by Matt Mason and the Nebraska Writers Collective. All proceeds benefit the Completely KIDS weekend and after-school food programs.
16th Annual Vintage Indiana Wine & Food Festival, Indianapolis, Indiana, June 6
Celebrate Indiana wineries as they offer samples of more than 200 wines. Enjoy delicious food from some of Indiana's top culinary experts and visit the Wine & Food Experience Pavilion for food and wine sessions with chefs and winemakers. Tap your feet to live music from Indiana musicians throughout the day and browse through the artists’ booths.
Salute! North Carolina Wine Celebration, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, June 6
This event highlights the fast-growing North Carolina wine industry with wines from over 30 North Carolina wineries. Delicious food selections, musical entertainment in 3 locations, and the "North Carolina Food & Wine University," an interactive and fun educational area, round-out the event.
Great Grapes Festival, Hunt Valley, Maryland, June 6-7
Sip and savor wines from over 20 Maryland wineries and celebrate the rich heritage of Maryland vines with live music, food, crafts and gourmet items. The festive also features a free kid’s area. A portion of the proceeds benefit Spirit of Hope Children’s Foundation.
Wine & Roses Charity Wine Tasting, San Diego, California, June 7
Enjoy an afternoon at The Grand Del Mar tasting delicious wines and eating food from some of San Diego’s best restaurants. Bid on discounted cases of all the winning wines from the San Diego International Wine Competition donated by the wineries. All proceeds support the charity of the Sisters of Social Service and Camp Oliver.
Casa Pacifica Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival, Camarillo, California, June 7
The beautiful California State University Channel Islands campus is the setting where you can sample wines from 30+ wineries many from the Santa Barbara area as well as beers from 15+ breweries, and food from 70+ restaurants, caterers, bakeries and specialty shops. Proceeds support Casa Pacifica, which helps abused and neglected children.
15th Annual Art of Wine Festival, Fayetteville, Arkansas, June 11-13
The festival features three days of evening events for wine novices and connoisseurs alike. Sample cuisine from the area's finest restaurants and try new wines at the Winemaker's Dinner, the Uncorked Friday Night Tasting, and the Premier Tasting. All proceeds support Walton Arts Center's programs.
34th Annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, Kapalua, Hawaii, June 11–14
Said to be the longest running food and wine event in the United States, the festival includes seminars on: “Elusive and Exclusive” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, AVAs of Willamette Valley, “The Wine World of Sports”, and Great Wines Made by Amazing Women. The event concludes with a "Seafood Festival" where Chefs from 14 Maui restaurants will prepare seafood specialties to share with guests.
Stowe Wine & Food Classic, Stowe, Vermont, June 12-14
Head to the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont to enjoy a weekend of delectable foods, and visit with winemakers and culinary experts. Events include: Blues, Brews & Food Truck Crews, and a Spanish Farm to Table Gala Dinner featuring the wines from Cune Rioja. Proceeds go towards refurbishing Copley Hospital’s Chemotherapy/Infusion Suites.
29th Annual Ojai Wine Festival, Ojai, California, June 14
Overlooking Lake Casitas, wine and beer connoisseurs can delight in wines from over 50 wineries with and premium craft beers and microbrews from over 15 breweries. Enjoy a great selection of fine art and craft vendors and two live bands.
Rhone Rangers Washington D.C. Tasting, Washington D.C., June 18-19
The Grand Tasting features an intimate evening of tasting 80+ Rhone wines from 20+ Rhone Ranger Wineries such as Bonny Doon , Qupe, Ridge, and Tablas Creek. Events also include a seminar on "American Rhone Wines for Summer Sipping" and wine maker dinners.
11th Annual Pinot Days Grand Festival, San Francisco, California, June 20
Join 80 pinot producers from California, Oregon, New Zealand and Burgundy who will pour over 200 distinct pinot noir wines. This is said to be the largest single gathering of pinot noir producers in the world and must for any Pinot lover.

Come to the Split Rock Resort to taste wines from Pennsylvania's finest wineries, enjoy educational seminars, great entertainment, along with over 100 craft vendors and delicious food.
Sherryfest 2015, New York, New York, June 23-25
The wide world of sherry from nearly 20 sherry producers will be highlighted at events throughout the city, including citywide tastings, dinners, seminars, cocktail features, and the Grand Tasting.
La Nuit En Rosé, New York, New York, June 25-27
La Nuit En Rosé, or The Pink Night, is a celebration of rosés from around the globe. Savor the depth and breadth of 140 rosés from the world’s great wine regions and sample gourmet hors d’oeuvres at this cocktail-style soirée on the Hornblower Hybrid yacht along the Hudson River.
