Atlanta’s wine bars prize food and atmosphere as much, if not more, than wine itself, and it shows. Check out a few of our favorites below!
Best Neighborhood Bar: Java Vino
The best combo a neighbor could ask for--coffee, wine and WiFi. Reasonable prices and quality beans and grapes make this Poncey-Highlands cafe a no-brainer.
Best Bar for Novices: Max’s Wine Dive
It doesn’t get more relaxed and friendly than Max’s Wine Dive, and for a wine novice, that’s just perfect. The mid-sized wine list is broad but not overwhelming, and the juke box playing rock ’n roll in the corner sets the mood for a great night.
Best Romantic Bar: Vine & Tap
Mood lighting. Cozy booths. Small bites to share. Take a date here and you won’t even have to pull out your list of interesting discussion topics.
Best Bang for Your Buck: Cellar 56
With plenty of bottles under $50 and glasses in the $8-10 range, this is a great spot for experimenting without maxing out your Black Card. The 56 (get it?) wines on their list are varied, some classic examples and some hidden gems. Dig in!
Most Eclectic Wine List: Barcelona
The wine list dives deep into Spain, taking you to regions you didn’t know existed and grapes you thought were myths. It’s also a well-rounded list, with offerings from every other major wine region. The classic but relaxing decor and to-die-for tapas don’t hurt either.
