New York City is packed with incredible wine bars, each one boasting a talented sommelier behind its wine list and a passionate chef in the kitchen. We share a few of our favorites below. Enjoy!
Best Neighborhood Bar: Aria, West Village:
Welcoming, laid-back, and with a wine list you’ll never tire of, this is a great place to stop by on your way home from work, before your Saturday night out, or on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Best Bar for Novices: Brookvin, Brooklyn:
Their regularly offered wine classes will teach you what you need to know, and their comprehensive, worldly wine menu will give you what you need to drink. Salut!
Best Romantic Bar: The Immigrant, East Village:
Small, cozy, and you’ll actually be able to hear your date talk. Order a bottle, some marinated olives, and let the romance begin.
Best Bang for your Buck: Tolani, Manhattan:
Wine-by-the-glass prices hover around $10, and happy hour is 2 for 1 on most menu items, with dollar oysters (!). Their monthly 6-course wine and food pairings are also a good value.
Most Eclectic Wine List: Kaia Wine Bar, Manhattan:
The South African-focused wine list will challenge your palate and your Dutch pronunciation skills, and the South African food menu offers perfect pairings.
