Burgundy is the holy grail for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lovers – this is where both grapes (arguably) achieve their best expressions. Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest Burgundy houses in the region, founded in 1731 and owns some of the choicest vineyards in the top sub-region of the Côte d’Or. Installed on the site of the ancient Château de Beaune, Bouchard Père & Fils uses the underground galleries of this fortress built by Luis XI for the slow maturing of its wines under optimal conditions.
Their Pinot Noirs are silky, refined and light-bodied; they will go well with a wide range of dishes including turkey, (even deep-fried). Their Chardonnays are crisp, lightly kissed with oak and rich; they will be a great match for sage stuffing and more. They are both low in alcohol and have relatively high acid levels which means they keep you wanting more.
