We know firsthand how much fun wine-tasting events can be because we had a blast at our Around the World in 80 Sips event this past weekend! Watermelon Wine Festival, Concord, Virginia, July 2
Have you ever had “Old Time Watermelon Wine? ” It’s basically wine made from watermelon juice. Well you can try that here along with a special Watermelon Sangria. In addition, there will be wine from local wineries, beer, food vendors, and live music. Bring the whole family! There’s a pool, wetslides, a bounce house, pony rides, a magician and face painting.
Salute! Kansas Festival of Wine & Food, Lawrence, Kansas, July 7-9
Come Mosey down Mass Street, hit a Winemaker Dinner featuring Master Sommelier, Larry O’Brien from Jackson Family Wines, and check out the Grand Tasting featuring more than 250 wines along with delicacies from area restaurants and caterers. Proceeds benefit Cottonwood, Inc., a non-profit that helps individuals with disabilities shape their future.
Park City Food & Wine Classic, Park City, Utah, July 7-10
Experience more than 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries, epicurean purveyors, and locally-made products at this ultimate food and wine experience. Events range from food and wine tastings, seminars and cooking demonstrations, to outdoor adventures with food & wine influences. Proceeds benefit the People’s Health Clinic which helps uninsured residents of Summit and Wasatch Counties have access to health care.
Garagiste Festival: Urban Exposure, Los Angeles, California, July 9
Enjoy more than 200 different handcrafted wines from over 20 varietals poured by over 60 cutting-edge commercial artisan ‘garagiste’ wineries from all over California. Over 60% of these small-production winemakers (who basically make wine in their garage) don’t even have a tasting room. So come find a hidden gem. Proceeds benefit the Garagiste Festival Scholarship Fund at Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture Department.
Drink Pink Rosé Festival, Gaston, Oregon, July 9
Patton Valley Vineyards hosts 28 wineries all celebrating summery Rosé wines. Established names like Elk Cove Vineyards and Penner–Ash Wine Cellars join smaller producers, each offering their take on this warm weather sipper. Portland’s Crown Paella and Koi Fusion will be serving up bites to accompany the wines.
Wine Country Big Q, Petaluma, CA, California, July 9
there’s nothing better than BBQ and wine! So come enjoy both. The best Pit Masters will be grilling plus there’s a bacon dessert, beer, cider, live music and more! See who is King of the Grill in the “Winery Big Beef Challenge” as winery and vineyard chefs go fork to fork competing for the coveted People’s Choice award for the best tri tip and wine pairing. Proceeds benefit Sonoma County Vet Connect which assists Veterans in locating the services they have earned during their military service.
Fueled by Fine Wine Half Marathon, Dundee Hills, Oregon, July 10
The Fueled by Fine Wine Half Marathon offers a scenic, 13.1 mile course set in the heart of Oregon wine country. Runners receive a swag bag and access to a post-race celebration that includes area wines, food and live music. Post-race festivities occur in downtown Dundee while the course itself winds through the rolling hills and vineyards of the surrounding AVA.
California Wine Festival, Santa Barbara, California, July 14-16
Hundreds of premium California wines are served up along with the best of the regional microbreweries, local top chefs, food purveyors and vendors of all things related to wine. Events include: Old Spanish Nights, the Sunset Rare & Reserve Wine Tasting and The Beachside Wine Festival.
Hudson Wine Festival, Hudson, Ohio, July 15-16
Enjoy 150+ wines from local, national and international producers as well as select craft beers and spirits along with live music, food, retail vendors, and wine seminars. The festival benefits animal welfare and military support organizations.
Finger Lakes Wine Festival, Watkins Glen, New York, July 15-17
This is the largest showcase of wines produced in New York State, with over 80 wineries paired with regional artisans, New York cheeses, live music, culinary classes and cooking demonstrations.
Bacon & Barrels, San Luis Obispo, California, July 15-17
A festival for bacon-obsessed foodies and those who prefer their drinks from a barrel (like bourbon, beer, wine, and scotch). Events include Kick-Off Dinner at Biddle Ranch Vineyard House on Friday and a VIP Only Bacon Buffet & Bloody's/Bellini's Brunch on Sunday, along with the main festival with local and celebrity chef demonstrations all weekend long.
Killington Wine Festival, Killington, Vermont, July 15–17
Taste over 400 wines from a collection of vineyards from around the world with Killington Peak and the Green Mountains of Vermont serving as a scenic backdrop. Check out: The Grand Tasting, the Killington Wine Trail, and the “Wine and Nine” Golf Tournament.
Festival Napa Valley, Napa Valley, California, July 15-24
Ten days of music, dance and theater are artfully blended with one-of-a-kind lifestyle programs and Napa’s incomparable wines and culinary delights. Events include: Vintner's Luncheon at Grgich Hills Estate, Yoga in the Vineyard, A Taste of Napa (with over 80 restaurants, food artisans, and wineries), and a 5K & 10K Sun Run.
Bacigalupi Vineyard Designate Tasting, Healdsburg, California, July 16
Fiftenn wineries will be pouring wines produced exclusively from the Bacigalupi Vineyards. Also, enjoy food pairings by local favorite Stark & Co. Catering and live music. Proceeds benefit the School Garden Network which promotes and supports school garden programs throughout Sonoma County.
Oakland Wine Festival, Oakland, California, July 16
Come celebrate the second-ever Oakland Wine Festival. Events include: Intimate Winemaker Luncheon with eight people and one winemaker at each table, Elegant Baby Grand Tasting where you actually sit with winemakers and taste and discuss their wines, and Brunch: Biscuits, Bacon, & Bottles.
University of San Diego Wine Classic, San Diego, California, July 16-17
Support the USD Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund by sampling 100+ wines from over 30 wineries owned or managed by USD alumni, parents, and friends. Enjoy live music, gourmet food, and a silent auction.
Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival - Music & Wine Gala, Santa Fe, New Mexico, July 19
You can hear great chamber musicians, enjoy an exquisite four-course dinner under the stars, and drink fine wines provided by Honored Guest Vintners all while benefiting the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.
Art and Wine Fusion, White Salmon, Washington, July 23
Taste wine and cider from more than a dozen fine local and regional vintners in this street festival with music, fine food, artists, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
International Pinot Noir Celebration, McMinnville, Oregon, July 29-31
IPNC is a three-day event and a mecca for lovers of Pinot Noir and northwestern cuisine. Events include: The University of Pinot, a Grand Dinner, Vineyard Tours and Winery Lunches, a Northwest Salmon Bake, and the Sparkling Brunch Finale.
Niagara USA Wine Festival, Lewiston, New York, July 30-31
Sample over 50 wines from 17 wineries from the Niagara Wine Trail. The 8th annual festival will have seminars and many local vendors offering culinary delights and refreshments. Enjoy live music too!
Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival, Syracuse, New York, July 24-26
Events include: Funky Friday, Blues Sunday, World Beat and Mardi Gras pavilions, Battle of the Community Bands, Late night jam sessions at Jazz Central, and three wine tasting sessions at the Red Cross Wine Pavilion. The festival is part of the acclaimed Syracuse ArtsWeek.
