We love wine… and we LOVE our dogs. So why not celebrate both — especially since March 23 is National Puppy Day!
Not that you need a day to celebrate your fine, furry friend, but it’s a super-fun excuse to pay homage to your four-legged bestie.
And wineries love dogs as much as we do.
As a matter of fact, there are tons wineries that are dog-friendly. Wineries like Raymond, St. Supery, and Pine Ridge out in Napa will allow you to bring Fido to a tasting. Check out this list of dog-friendly Napa Valley wineries, but every wine region has them.
Because winery dogs are a thing. (And no, we are not talking about the band.) Many wineries will have a dog running around the property, as if they own it. And many winemakers will tell you that you just can’t make good wine without one.
There even are books devoted to winery dogs.
So the next time you’re planning a vineyard visit, but sure to ask if your dog is welcome. There are a bunch of sites out there for dog lovers that have all that info. For instance, if you’re in California, check out DogTrekker. It has a winery section and lists a bunch of places that will encourage you to bring your dog.
So raise your glass to the only friend in your life that doesn’t hold a grudge.
Happy National Puppy Day!
