Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Louis Jadot is currently run by owner Pierre Henry Gagey and winemaker Jacques Lardière.... (more...) The focus of the one hundred and five acre Burgundian domaine is on the expression of terroir. To that end, the restricted-yield vineyards are farmed with few pesticides, and the winemaking process utilizies as little human intervention as possible.The Bouchard family settled in Burgundy at the time that Louis XV and Louis XVI made Burgundy the wine of the court, and quickly founded a wine company - one of the first in the region. It was at this time that the Bouchard family settled in Burgundy and founded a wine company which was to become one of the oldest in the region. There is fruit in the body of the wine, but it is drying out now. The finish ends up quite dry and astringent at the end.
