Trimbach Riesling Clos St. Hume

Tasting Note

With a wine-making history of nearly four hundred years, Trimbach has remarkably managed to stay a family-run business. Today, Bernard and H... (more...)ubert Trimbach (with their sons, Jean and Pierre), own vineyards in three villages, and focus on their acclaimed production of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, although they also produce Pinot Noir. Inextricably intertwined with their wines, the family oversees every task and, as a result of their skill and integrity, are well-known for it.Restrained nose, refined and elegant with perfumed and floral scents mixed with spices and a contained sweetness; fresh and lemony in the mouth, good composition in this wine, lots of nuances, sweetness mixed with touches of key limes and minerals; long finish, clean and crisp, but not as powerful in this vintage as in some others that I have tasted.
